1. Policy Overview

Western Door Hockey, Inc (“Western Door Hockey”) provides sports training, league play, tournaments, events, and retail apparel. Due to the nature of these services—many of which involve reserved capacity, scheduling commitments, and completed performance activities—refund eligibility is limited.

This policy is designed to comply with applicable New York State consumer protection laws, requiring clear disclosure of refund terms prior to purchase.

2. General Refund Principles

  • All sales are final unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing. 
  • Refund eligibility is determined based on whether services or events have been rendered or reserved
  • No refunds will be issued for used, consumed, or completed services

3. Non-Refundable Items and Services

The following are strictly non-refundable:

3.1 Team & Program Deposits

  • All team deposits are non-refundable. 
  • Deposits are used to secure roster spots, ice time, field time, staffing, and scheduling commitments. 

3.2 Completed or Participated Activities

No refunds will be issued for:

  • Sports games that have been completed 
  • Tournament games that have been played (in full or in part) 
  • Training sessions, classes, or performance testing that has been completed 

3.3 Partial Participation

  • No prorated refunds will be issued for partial attendance, missed sessions, or voluntary withdrawal after a program begins. 

4. Limited Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be considered under the following narrow conditions:

4.1 Medical Withdrawal

  • A prorated credit (not cash refund) may be issued for serious injury or medical condition, supported by documentation from a licensed medical provider. 
  • Determination is at the sole discretion of Western Door Hockey management

4.2 Program Cancellation by Western Door Hockey

  • If Western Door Hockey cancels a program, league, or event prior to commencement:
    • A full refund or account credit will be issued. 
  • If cancellation occurs after partial delivery:
    • A prorated credit may be issued. 

4.3 Scheduling Conflicts Initiated by Western Door Hockey

  • If Western Door Hockey materially changes schedules and a participant cannot attend:
    • Credit or refund may be offered on a case-by-case basis. 

5. Weather, Facility, and Force Majeure

  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations or disruptions caused by:
    • Weather conditions 
    • Facility closures beyond control 
    • Government orders or public health restrictions 
  • Make-up sessions or credits may be offered at Western Door Hockey’s discretion. 

6. Apparel Return Policy

6.1 Eligibility

Apparel and retail items may be returned under the following conditions:

  • Return requested within 14 days of purchase 
  • Item must be:
    • Unused 
    • Unworn 
    • Unwashed 
    • In original condition with tags attached 

6.2 Non-Returnable Apparel

The following items are not eligible for return:

  • Customized or personalized apparel 
  • Team-issued gear 
  • Clearance or final sale items 
  • Apparel showing signs of wear or use 

6.3 Refund Method

  • Approved returns will be refunded to the original form of payment or issued as store credit. 
  • Western Door Hockey reserves the right to inspect all returned items prior to approval. 

7. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

  • Initiating a chargeback without first contacting Western Door Hockey to resolve the issue may result in:
    • Suspension from programs 
    • Denial of future participation 
  • Western Door Hockey maintains documentation of all transactions and program participation to respond to disputes. 

8. Compliance with New York Law

  • This policy is disclosed prior to purchase in accordance with New York State consumer protection standards
  • By registering for programs or purchasing goods, customers acknowledge and accept this policy. 
  • Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
